"A" TAGS NOW DUE: "A" Tags are due by February 28, 2026.
Beginning December 22, 2025, unpaid first half personal property tax (excluding real estate) must be paid in full before any vehicle business can be processed. Please provide proof of insurance for each vehicle. The towing vehicle insurance for the trailers will be accepted. Remember, no proof of insurance, no tags! It's the law!

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026: The Treasurer's Office will no longer process original title transactions after 3:45 p.m. If you have purchased a new or used vehicle and need to register the vehicle, please be in our office before 3:45 p.m. We will continue to process registration renewals until closing at 4:15 p.m. Please remember to provide proof of insurance for all vehicle transactions.
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026: Drivers License transactions processed at the Jackson County Treasurer's office will be by appointment only Monday through Thursday. We will accept walk-ins on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. We will NO LONGER process any driver's license walk-ins after 3:45 p.m. To schedule an appointment please call 785-364-3791, option 2.

Kansas has several options for license plates available. Additional fees and documents may be required. This is not a complete list, as new plates are being added on a revolving basis. Contact the Jackson County Treasurer's office for more information.
