It's that time again! Every year the Midwest Transplant Network has a DMV decorating contest for the Northeast Kansas county DMV offices during the month of September, that shows support for organ, eye and tissue donation. This year the Jackson County Treasurer's office chose our theme as "Become A Member In September, Life Is SweeTarts", with candy shop decorations. Stop in our office during the month of September to see the "Sweet Shop"! Then, go to the Midwest Transplant Network Facebook page, find our photo on the original post, and click "Like" to help this office win the contest! Organ donation has been personal in this office. We have a live donor, the wife of a heart recipient, and the brother of a kidney/pancreas transplant recipient, just in this office! Others within the courthouse itself include the grandmother of a double-lung transplant recipient, a judge on the 3rd floor received a heart transplant, and a past employee had received a kidney from his daughter.
